Qualification Process

Invitations to the Asia Open Golf Championship 2025 are extended to top-ranked players from recognized golf associations across the region. Each participating country is guaranteed one position, which will be awarded to the country’s highest-ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). If a country has more than one player in the WAGR, additional positions are granted to the next highest-ranked players. For countries without players in the WAGR, they may nominate one player to participate.

The remaining field is filled by selecting the next highest-ranked players from the WAGR, with a maximum of seven players per country, except for the host nation, which is allowed three additional players. Exceptions to the country limit include past champions of the Asia Open Golf Championship (eligible for five years following their win) and the top-five finishers from the previous year’s tournament, even if they are not ranked among their country’s WAGR players.
